This is a variation on the time line of the centuries made with the paper replicas of the golden bead-chains.  The Time Line of the Centuries with Roman Numerals is greatly reduced in length to show 21 centuries before the zero (B.C.E.) and 21 centuries after the zero (C.E.). The children will need 42 hundred squares from the Golden Bead Bank to emphasize all the centuries.  There are two sets of labels (42 Arabic/Roman numerals for B.C.E. and 42 Arabic/Roman numerals for C.E.) to be placed in sequential order below the squares representing the centuries.  The exercise consists of matching all the labels on the time line, both Arabic and Roman numerals, in sequential order.  After the work is checked, the student copies the labels on the time line.  This file contains 15 pages to be taped together in sequential order to form the time line strip, four pages for the Arabic and Roman numeral labels to be cut out, and three pages of instructions with lesson presentation.
