This form is widely used both by primary and early elementary students. The entire sheet contains a hundred squares, but the bold line that divides the paper in half clearly shows that the paper is intended to be used for writing simple operations using five squares on either side of the paper.

The tables or combinations of all four operations can be written in the five squares as shown in the examples below:

For addition: 4 + 8 = 12

For multiplication: 3 x 6 = 18

For subtraction: 18 - 9 = 9

For division: 40 : 8 = 5
